台北訊 - 2019年10月22日 - Silicon Labs(亦名“芯科科技”，NASDAQ：SLAB)宣布收購PTP主時脈/閘道器及其他系統級同步解決方案領導供應商Qulsar 之所有IEEE 1588精準時間協定(PTP)軟體及模組資產，包括所有Qulsar 模組 (PTP 主時脈、閘道器、邊界時脈及從屬時脈)以及 IEEE 1588伺服與堆疊軟體、開發工具及板卡支援套件，適用於眾多類型應用，如小型基地台、光傳輸、智慧電網、汽車、以及5G無線基礎設施等。

Silicon Labs時脈產品事業部總經理James Wilson表示：「Silicon Labs與Qulsar的共同願景，是透過簡化的解決方案讓客戶輕鬆將IEEE 1588協定運用在各種基礎設施中。新增Qulsar軟體與模組至Silicon Labs的1588網路同步時脈系列產品，將使我們能透過統包式(turnkey) 營運商等級解決方案簡化1588的整合，縮短上市時程，掌握快速成長的市場商機。」

IEEE 1588透過將精確日時(time-of-day)訊號分配至封包網路，為5G基礎設施提供精確的網路同步。採用1588解決方案能消除GPS時間同步在成本、可靠度、視線等方面的問題，並可促成各種新型5G服務，提供更高的頻寬連結，並將基地台之間的干擾降至最低。
